The Episcopal Church

We Are Part Of The Episcopal Church

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Village Plaza is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, a diocese of The Episcopal Church. The Rt. Rev. C. Andrew Doyle is our Bishop Diocesan. Our two Bishop Suffragans are the Rt. Rev. Kathryn “Kai” McCrossen Ryan and the Rt. Rev. Jeff W. Fisher, and our Bishop Assistant is the Rt. Rev. Hector F. Monterroso. We recognize the authority of the General Convention of The Episcopal Church.

You will find that the Episcopal Church is a spiritual home free of judgment and inclusive for all people. We deeply believe that God loves all people and hates no one. We welcome different viewpoints on theological questions but are unified in our love of God through Christ Jesus. All our lovely ancient tradition is integral to who we are and what we believe, and, equally important, to how we live in our contemporary world. We believe God the Holy Spirit is alive and moving in the world. For this reason we remain open to revelation, to all those things Jesus said he had yet to teach us, things we learn through science and other fields of knowledge.

Please note that the group calling itself St. Stephen’s Church in the building on Precinct Line Road in Hurst is not affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Additionally, the group calling itself the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth is not a diocese of The Episcopal Church nor are any churches affiliated with that diocese part of The Episcopal Church.
